Eye conditions and diseases can develop for a number of reasons. However, you may be more prone to certain diseases if it runs in the family. 

You should also be aware of the effects of diseases such as diabetes or hypertension can have on vision, which are more prominent in some ethnic groups than others. There are three common eye problems that can be hereditary.
