Some common eye conditions are:
- Short Sightedness (Myopia) – The ability to see clearly up close, but blurred distance vision.
- Long Sightedness (Hyperopia) – The ability to see clearly far away, but blurred near vision.
- Presbyopia – The weakening of the eye as we age, often noticeable when you need to hold your book at arms length.
- Astigmatism
In the past vision correction has provided improved vision to the wearer, but has not offered a lot of benefits in terms of comfort or aesthetics. Thanks to ongoing research and developments in our technology, Essilor is able to provide strong, lightweight, incredibly clear materials, which can be tailor made to your prescription, lifestyle and frame choice.
Wearers can now choose our new Crizal anti-reflective lenses which are virtually dust free as well as scratch resistant. They can also choose Transitions, or prescription Sun lenses. If you spend large periods of time reading or in front of a computer screen you even have the option of Anti-Fatigue lenses to avoid eye strain.
Because everyone is unique, we advise that you talk to your eye care professional about what eye care solution is best for you.
The importance of an eye exam
Eye fatigue and headaches can often be prevented with proper visual correction. Most eye diseases (glaucoma, cataracts, etc.) can be treated if detected early. Only your Eye Care Professional is able to complete a comprehensive eye examination.
