Varilux Academy
Varilux Academy Asia Pacific (VAAP) is an essential education programme for practitioners, conducted throughout the region by Essilor in cooperation with the International Centre for Eyecare Education (ICEE). ICEE is based out of the University of NSW School of Optometry in Australia and is part of the UN World Health Organisation Vision 2020 initiative.

Varilux Academy deals with everything from the psychology of the patient to practical workshops on today's modern lenses. Varilux Academy course contents are tailored to suit the various levels and needs of the attendees and are adapted to their understanding. Over the past 7 years, the Varilux Academy has trained more than 10,000 practitioners in twelve countries. A group of 67 trainers, specially certified by ICEE deliver the programme locally in more than 10 different languages.
Furthermore, the “Varilux Academy Educator Initiative” (also called EPEP), which provides training and resources on ophthalmic lenses to lecturers and teachers in optical institutions across Asia - Pacific now has 45 institutions producing optometry graduates trained assistance of the programme. Varilux Academy has proven to be a great success in New Zealand, keeping local optometrists and dispensers up-to-date with communication and technical information to help their businesses grow. Essilor New Zealand now has its own Certified trainer who can provide Academy programmes on a continual basis and assist Academy team on their annual lecture tour.
Varilux University Scholarship
Open since 1997, the University runs a three day course for eye care professionals. This course is designed to help you make your own practice a centre of excellence for presbyopic correction.
